I found this a while ago and used it to make my journal - I then glued in my journal pages that I had finished.
video on how to stitch pages into a hand made fabric or leather journal by ricfz This is part one but you can then get to the next one from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVkO6dyOBtg |

I'd love to have a go at making my own journal. I saw Kirsty Allsopp making one on her show and it looked pretty easy.

What a fantastic tutorial Flo - thanks so much for sharing.
Also a great link thanks Okey but I too prefer step-by-steps rather than video!! |

Hi All
The binding style on Kirsty's show was longstitch. For getting started I'd highly recommend a book by Alisha Golden called Expressive Handmade books I've been collecting bookbinding tutorials from around the internet for years, you are welcome to have a look through the list http://billiescraftroom.wordpress.co...als-by-others/ Here are a few bookbinding tutorials I've made Linen thread is available from Ebay and is ideal for bookbinding as it is strong, buy a uncoloured version and you can use your inks to recolour it to match your project. If you can forgive another link here's my bookbinding tab which will give listings for suppliers, blogs, tutorials and reviews best wishes Billie Last edited by Billie; 28-02-2012 at 07:57 PM. |
